Museum of Islamic Art

The Museum of Islamic Art is one of a series of four museums representing the genuine Egyptian civilization.

These are: The Egyptian Museum, The Greek and Roman Museum in Alexandria and the Coptic Museum built in 1902.


The Museum of Islamic Art has masterpieces that go back from the year 20 A.H. up to period of Ismail pasha - the khedive of Egypt - 1296 A.H. It also has masterpieces from most countries which Islam entered.


They are made from different materials, metals, carpets, potteries, weapons and wood as well as glassware maspterpieces, copies of the Holy Quran - manuscripts and others.
